Pure Photography: Images of Time

My photography consists of handmade black and white images, using film and traditional darkroom techniques. The images are primarily from France and Italy with a focus on Paris and Venice. I hope to present timeless images inspired by Atget, Cartier-Bresson, Doisneau and Kertesz. To that end, I create timeless images that appear to be from an earlier period.

Current trends in my images include:

• Tendency to longer exposures

• More evening and night shoots

• Use of medium format or rangefinder camera

Image Preparation, Details and Pricing

Control can only be accomplished by attaining mastery of the entire process from capture, negative development, and final printing. Please overlook my obvious omission of image selection and composition! I have also developed my own printing techniques that allow the creation of images with contrast and tonal consistency like images created in the first half of the 20th Century.

My images are not limited-edition prints, and image pricing is based on the sizing, not on popularity. As negatives do not degrade over time, it is possible to reproduce images of consistent quality over a career. Pricing for hand made prints (print only) is as follows:
