Healthcare Analytics

Analytics is a large topic in the healthcare space. I have experience in developing analytical approaches to an array of areas:

• Review of ED trends, volumes, and workload planning

• Review inpatient hospital services including length of stay, expected length of stay, case costing/costing, ALC review, trends, and variation in practice as occupancy varies

• Bed Mapping using information from inpatients, historical trends, and population health

• Ambulatory trending and projections

• Case Costing and Benchmarking

• Budgeting, staffing, case costing, and budget planning in periods of contraction

This work can be performed with limited impact on staffing. Reporting and presentation of data to senior leadership are included and the scope is determined through an initial investigation with hospital leadership.

With knowledge of the systems, quality, technologies, dynamics, and staffing challenges found in all healthcare settings, I bring an external view to help address the big problems. I work independently at the direction of you or your senior leader who needs skilled hands to help understand the challenge, design and test solutions, build support, implement, and handoff to trained staff. I benefit from focus on the challenge and as an external consultant, with no other internal obligations, I can direct my full attention to advancing your strategy.
